Associate, Business Control & Risk Management

POSITION SUMMARYThe Associate, Business Control & Risk Management, represents the First Line of Defense and is responsible for executing the Enterprise Risk Framework and Operational Risk programs.
The Associate will assist the Sr.
Associate in championing the Business Control mandate acting as a critical partner guiding stakeholders to embed risk management practices in the 1st line.
The Associate executes and/or participates in executing the Risk and Control Self-Assessment Program, KRI calculation and reporting, event/incident management, operational risk programs for markets, new business and product risk assessments, and issue management.
The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and levels of management while satisfying all program requirements.

Responsibilities:
Documents and assesses risks and controls in the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Program in alignment with corporate standards/program requirements.
Assists in the collection and initial analysis of KRI associated metrics and RCSA data.
Develops training on policies and procedures concerning controls and risk management.
Leads operating process and internal control improvement initiatives.
Manages complex projects that involve working with businesses to improve controls to mitigate any deficiencies.
Assists in the collection and initial analysis of KRI associated metrics and RCSA data.
Assist in documenting procedures reflecting the standards set forth in the various Risk policies.
Assist in developing and maintaining issue management best practices.
Manage events and incidents to ensure timely resolution.
Effectively partners with line of business to solicit information and to mitigate risk.
Develops and provides reporting to various levels of management on operational risks/issues identified within the business line to help identify risk trends and improve risk management.
Assist with Ad hoc projects as necessary to strengthen the Risk culture and mature the various Risk programs across the business line.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree; Accounting, Business, Risk Management, Markets, Economics or equivalent field preferred 3-5 years; Risk Management, Internal Controls, relevant line of business experience and/or regulatory experience.
Risk Certification preferable Ability to build credibility with, collaborate with, and influence line of business executives.
Ability to collaborate with internal and external service providers to establish resource requirements, scheduling, assignments and service levels.
Ability to constructively work both independently and in collaborative environments involving all levels of management and employees Understanding of how the risks of the products and services the bank offers are viewed by the Second Line of Defense and regulators.
Demonstrated experience supporting and/or leading risk projects across multiple business lines offering a wide variety of financial services products and services.
Excellent analytical and complex problem solving skills.
Knowledge of the financial services sector, particularly with the competitive dynamics and products in retail banking and risk management.
Strong project management skills.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
