Admissions Advisor (Office of Admissions Services at York College/CUNY)

This position reports to the Director of Admissions at York College. In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:
Conducts on-campus information sessions and serves as in-house admissions advisor for prospective students, families visiting the office, and programs at high schools and in the community-at-large.
Participates in planning and execution of all on-campus recruitment events.
Serves as the primary liaison to Long Island high school counselors
Work with Graduate departments to ensure a seamless application process.
Coordinates the Admission?s Office Graduate outreach
Maintains detailed records for use in evaluating the effectiveness of recruiting strategies and develops end-of-year Graduate admissions' goals
Serve as the work-study liaison as needed
Bachelor's Degree required.
Valid Driver?s license is strongly preferred.
Coordinates and contributes to student recruiting activities.
Conducts open house sessions and orientations to ensure applicants are fully informed of requirements and processes
Assists in direct recruiting at high schools, community outreach events, and other appropriate locations
Provides general information on programs and services in person or by telephone, email, or letter
Maintains current information about College programs and degree requirements
Performs related duties as assigned

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
