Assistant Professor - English Department (Multiple Positions)

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The English Department at Queensborough Community College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach composition, literature, and developmental reading and writing. He/she will perform teaching, research, and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise and shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions. Position to start Fall 2019.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in English or related field by time of appointment. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate should have prior teaching experience in introductory composition courses and a demonstrated commitment to working with community college students, particularly linguistically diverse and first-generation college students. In addition, the candidate should have a record of scholarship or achievement in an area of expertise. Special consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate an active research agenda in the areas of composition and/or the scholarship of teaching and learning. The candidate?s application also should highlight the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
