Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) - (Family Services)

QSAC pursues this mission through direct services that provide a supportive and individualized setting for children and adults with autism to improve their communication, socialization, academic, and functional skills.
Job Description
QSAC is looking for Behavior Intervention Specialists to support our Direct Support Professionals who provide In-Home services. Applicants should have a good knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). There are positions available in the Bronx and Jamaica, Queens with both positions involving travel to program recipients' homes.
Responsibilities for a Behavior Intervention Specialist include:
? Maintain coordination of active treatment services for people being supported through in-home services in accordance with OPWDD regulations
? Write/Design all individual goals and observe goal implementation by Direct Support Professionals
? Monitor/Assess monthly goal progress and update short-term objectives
? Travel to service delivery sites to meet with families and Direct Support Professionals
? Provide training and mentoring to Direct Support Professionals on skills and techniques to support people with autism
? Place monthly data sheets in goal books and file outdated data sheets
? Maintain clinical paperwork as regulated by New York State
? Provide written goal summary for and participate in interdisciplinary meetings
? Provide residential staff training/in services regarding active treatment, self-management, goal implementation and data collection.
? Participate and work as part of interdisciplinary team
? Master?s degree and experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities/autism required
? Bilingual Spanish preferred
? Experience writing Behavior Support Plans for people with autism preferred
? Travel within NYC and Long Island required
? Attention to detail and calm demeanor
? Strong communication skills
? Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
